When to Go to a 24-Hour Emergency Hospital
Valiant can evaluate and treat many urgent illnesses and injuries, but some pets need the continuous monitoring, intensive care, or specialty resources of a 24-hour emergency hospital.

Signs Your Pet May Need a 24-Hour Emergency Hospital
Examples may include the situations below. This is not a complete list, and it is not a substitute for veterinary evaluation.
Neurologic
- Ongoing or repeated seizures
- Severe disorientation or inability to stand
Trauma
- Major trauma
- Significant injuries with instability
Critical Illness
- Severe weakness or collapse
- Conditions requiring continuous monitoring
- Conditions likely to require overnight hospitalization
Specialty & Intensive Care
- Situations requiring ICU-level monitoring
- Immediate specialty intervention
When Urgent Care May Be the Right Setting
Many pets need prompt veterinary attention without needing overnight hospitalization or ICU-level care. Valiant is designed for that space.
- Vomiting or diarrhea in an otherwise stable pet
- Minor wounds or lacerations
- Limping or pain
- Ear or eye problems
- Decreased appetite
- Mild to moderate allergic reactions in a stable patient
- Other illnesses or injuries requiring timely evaluation
The severity of a condition matters. Two pets with the same symptom may need very different levels of care.

If Your Pet Needs More Intensive Care
Sometimes the need for a higher level of care becomes clear only after a veterinary examination or diagnostic testing. If we determine that your pet needs overnight hospitalization, intensive monitoring, or specialty treatment, we'll explain why and help coordinate the next step.
When appropriate, our team can stabilize a patient before transfer.
